The mystery of the sign
01-1977
''Who knows if for everybody the best beauty is a meeting a mystery...''

Carola Mazot, a paintress of great talent and long family tradition asks herself about it.
Her grandparents were indeed painters.
The maternals grandfather, in particular, was Zanetti Zilla, a neo-impressionist of wide fame who initiated her into painting when she was thirteen years old.
Afterwards Frisia was her master, another well-known artist that, as the paintress confesses, taught her to" draw by painting".
Mazot entered the artistic circle of the sculptor Lorenzo Pepe who prepared her for the admission to the Accademy of Brera ( Milano ) and, finally, she also attended the Accademy of Venice. Mazot paints straight -off.
When she is in harmony with the nature that she wants to paint she is quik, sure without second thoughts.
Perhaps because of these intimate reasons football player are her last topic. Mazot's gestural art exults at "stopping" the movement of the bodies. Her painting is tied to the human because she is fascinated by nature: by a face , a body as a flower, a sky as well as by changeable seasons.
Carola Mazot is followed and appreciated by several intellectuals, being known in the Milanese artistic circle thanks to her talent as paintress but also for her niceness and humanity. I would like to quote a phrase of Franco Loi: " Perhaps her character is much stronger than her absent and astonished look would show".
A strong character that can be tested along the artistic path of Carola who has been painting fights and fighters for years to get to new gladiators of the stadium, bodies that exult at strugglling, perhaps a need a paintress and the woman to express her internal tension.
This tension dissolves in the paintings with flowers or with landscapes, that let imagine spaces where the beauty of nature is still possible.
